Sweaters were all the rage in Minneapolis last November. Be sure to check the weather forecast before you pack. Simply enter zip code 55449 in the "local forecast" bar.

Welcome to Minneapolis! Here's your social itinerary

Team -

Here are some of the "must-see" destinations during your visit. I've put a few times to the events, but much of the agenda is flexible, so please post your comments.

On Saturday you are likely to be tired after the long flight - please send me your arrival times so that I can meet you for a drink/light bite at the hotel if you like.
There's a free shuttle from the airport to your hotel and the same free shuttle is available to and from the Mall of America - more on this later!

Depending on when you get in, we may want to make a run to a famous burger joint, (sorry Mandeep) Matt's Bar, home of the "Jucy Lucy" .

Sunday morning, you are likely to be up early because of the time change, so I'm going to suggest a little yoga followed by a couple of interesting breakfast choices:

1) Take a look at the Bikram Yoga site
- the class is at 9:30, but we'll want to be there for 9:00 am which means an 8:30 pickup time. You'll see that this is a "hot yoga" class, so all you'll need is minimal wear (no shoes) so don't bother packing lots of exercise gear beyond shorts & a top. There are showers & towels, etc. provided after class. The class costs approximately GBP 9 and lasts an hour and a half.

2) Here are a couple of our family's perennial favorites for breakfast (please be sure to vote):

Victor's - a little Cuban number that's different & fun

Isles Bun & Coffee - biggest & softest cinnamon rolls you'll ever taste

Bakery on Grand - FAM - full American breakfast

See picture of my family above - this is us last November - should give you an idea of how cold it can be. You may just need to do some emergency shopping as a result.

For the balance of the afternoon, girls, I'd recommend the Mall of America
. Can't go wrong - thousands of shops & the strength of the Pound means everything will seem cheap. Don't be shy about bringing a second, empty suitcase to carry home. There are also something like 25 restaurants in the MOA in case you need sustenance plus a theme park including roller coasters and a log flume plus a huge aquarium in the event that you want a change of pace.

For the balance of the afternoon, boys, Alan we'll got a haircut at Schmidty's and bring GBP 25 for new shirt at Kuhlman plus we'lll grab a little Mexican dish at Chipotle and then probably drop you back at the hotel for some rest.

We'll go out in uptown for a drink and dinner at one or more of the following:

Lucia's, delicious and vegetarian friendly

Barbette, one of our personal favorites

Bryant Lake Bowl, something different - old-fashioned bowling + great chow, again, vegetarian friendly

Chino Latino, get dressed up in your new togs from the MOA - this is the place to see & be seen.

Then cab home & I'll pick you all up for the office about 8:00 on Monday.

Don't know the office agenda yet, but will get you set up with temporary desks, access to webmail, etc. Monday evening you are likely to be on your own as I'll be working late with the team pulling together the last of the sponsor presentation details and Tuesday & Wednesday we'll all be out with customers. More on that "official" agenda to come.
